Finance
The Investment Club provides students with an opportunity to apply modern finance theory to investment decisions involving actual market transactions. The club invests $50,000 in the stock market each year in partnership with D.A. Davidson & Co. Any profits earned by the club are split between D.A. Davidson & Co and the club. This money can be used for student conferences and academic opportunities.

Internship
Coordinated by Career & Employment Services, internships at MSUB offer students an opportunity to take their academic knowledge and apply it to real world situations. Students can intern with local businesses, aid in research with faculty, and/or serve on the MSUB campus. Many of our COB students have been offered jobs before they graduate with the company they interned with.
Capstone
Capstone is required for all business majors and allows students to develop a detailed
business plan for an actual business. This course covers strategic analysis and planning
for managerial decision making through
integration of the functional areas of business. Theoretical class work is applied
through multiple pedagogical
methods.
International Learning Opportunities
The COB advocates for our faculty to explore opportunities to connect their classrooms with those around the world. Currently, the COB offers BGEN 360 International Business that partners with ISPGAYA University in Porto, Portugal. Throughout the semester, COB students work with a counterpart classroom in ISPGAYA to build a business plan for an international business looking to expand into the US via Montana. Over Spring Break, MSUB students are given the opportunity to travel to Porto to work with their team and visit with the company. A few weeks later, the Portuguese students come to Montana for a week to finish and present their business plan. Emphasis is on learning about cultural diversity and different approaches to management and negotiation, theories of international trade, exchange rates, and an introduction to elements of importing and exporting.
