International Student Orientation
The International Student Orientation gives new MSUB students the tools they need to be successful at MSUB and studying in the U.S. It also offers a great opportunity to engage with the Office of International Studies team and meet other incoming students. In addition to information sessions, students will also be encouraged to participate in group activities, social events, possible excursions and more.
The International Student Orientation is MANDATORY and MUST be attended by all new international students.
The Fall 2025 International Student Orientation is scheduled for August 27 - 29, 2025. Please plan to arrive in Billings and check in to the residence halls between August 23 - 26. The full orientation schedule will be posted at a later date.
What to Bring to the Orientation:
- I-20 (F-1 Students) or DS-2019 (J-1 Students)
- Passport & Visa
- Copy of health insurance coverage
- International Student Immunization Form
- Notebook & Pen or Pencil
- Phone (if available)

Virtual Pre-Departure Orientations will be held via Webex. Separate sessions will be held for J-1 Exchange Students and F-1 Degree Seeking Students.
J1 Exchange Students, please register for one of the following virtual Pre-Departure Orientation sessions. Please note, attendance is MANDATORY.

Thursday July 17, 2025, 9:00AM - 10:00AM MST
F1 Degree Seeking International Students, please register for the following virtual Pre-Departure Orientation session. Attendance is MANDATORY.
Monday July 21, 2025, 9:00AM - 10:00AM MST
These sessions will cover pre-arrival requirements, arrival expectations, international student orientation, course registration, and international student expectations for the fall semester. It will also provide an opportunity to address any questions before you depart for MSU Billings and the U.S.
